We would like to thank the parishioners at Lakewood United Methodist Church for their generosity! Help to Others is a service-learning program for middle and high school students in Lakewood. H2O engages youth in volunteer work, empowering them with the values of belonging and contributing to their community. We here at the Bowl have had the pleasure of having the kids work with us and the residents at the Westerly bagging and tagging pet food for distribution, for a few years now. These kids work hard to help our community and learn about other organizations by helping them. These photos are from our get-together in June and August. Keep an eye out for these kids, they work hard all year!Read More
Join us once again, Sunday February 1st 2015, for our 4th annual “Stuff the Subaru” on Super Bowl Sunday. It may be cold and snowing but our dedicated volunteers will be waiting to accept your donation. We are in need of dry dog and cat food and moist cat food to keep our program of providing food for owners needing help feeding their pets.
We will be at Lakewood High School 10 am to 1:30pm. Just enter from Franklin Boulevard, drive up to our volunteers who will remove your donation from your car, fill out a donation slip if you wish and you are on your way out the Bunts Road exit and headed to your last minute Super Bowl Party errands and home in plenty of time for the game. It is just that easy!
Can’t make it but still want to help? You can make a monetary donation by clicking HERE.
Hope to see you there!
On Tuesday, October 28th, we will travel to our supplier to purchase dog food with the $1000 grant we were awarded, from ASPCA!!!!!!! In a very generous gesture, our supplier is donating a like amount of cat food. We are so, so grateful for our good fortune. We will be safe for a while, but we can never have enough stockpiled. This year has been a challenge given the rise in the number of families in need. Thank you to the ASPCA and our wonderful supplier.
