Keeping Every Bowl Full
We need your help. Since the beginning of 2014 our cost for purchasing food from a supplier rose a whopping 30% and just this week the cost is now 70% higher at $17.00 per bag. We had been paying $13.00 this year and last year was $10.00. We have to purchase cat food and are in need of some monetary donations or just a donation of cat food. Lots of it. We are able to buy 1,000lbs right now. That is only a 6 week supply.
We are turning to you for help. Donate food or make a monetary donation and we will be able to continue feeding the pets. This is a link to our donation page. You will also find locations where you can drop off food.
We don’t want this to happen.
Once again, with the help of Laurie Sekeres and Ganley Subaru, we will hold our third annual “Stuff the Subaru” food drive on Sunday, February 2nd from 10am until 1:30pm Lakewood High School, 14100 Franklin Boulevard, Lakewood.
The game kicks off at 6:25pm so you have plenty of time to swing by and drop off your tax deductible donation.
Dry dog is most needed at this time, as well as 1 gallon zip-lock bags. Wet food is also appreciated, but not as crucial.
Help us make this our biggest collection ever! Hope to see you there.
Thank you to everyone that purchased one of our unique key chains. We sold OUT! We had over 110 available for sale.
We were fortunate to collect $465.00 this year from the generous supporters at Yappy Hour!!!!! Thank you to everyone that came out!!
We’re so excited to be invited to Yappy Hour, Thursday August 22, 5-8pm!!!
My Best Friend’s Bowl will be featured at Yappy Hour out under the tents on the corner of West 110th and Clifton Blvd. They are just over 2 years old and are already giving out over 450 lbs of food weekly to owners in need. Their mission is to help owners in need with pet food to help maintain the pet’s health, keep the pets with their loved ones instead of being surrendered or being set free to fend for themselves. Use the link above to find out more about this needed service.
Our friends at Nature’s Bin will be on hand with awesome food fare from their newly built kitchen facilities in Lakewood Ohio. Pet-Tique is sponsoring the usual beer, wine and water options. Use the link to visit their website.
The tents will be out, so for a $5 donation to My Best friends Bowl you can enjoy a great Cleveland evening outside! We will have raffle baskets as well to help raise money for this great cause.
There will be a Donation Stack which will be a stack of selected foods that are 15% if you buy it to donate it to My Best Friends Bowl.Read More

On Monday August 5th, the residents of The Westerly Apartments enjoyed the 6 students and their counselor who joined them in a “Mass Bagging” event for My Best Friend’s Bowl. The students and the residents weighed dog and cat food, packaged and labeled 640 pounds total. It was quite an undertaking and they accomplished the job in less than 2 hours and with little or no spillage!
We’d like to thank Sarah, the H20 counselor and the kids, who will be entering 6th grade this fall around Lakewood: Emily, Maddy, Esther, Joey, Kyle and Sean for helping us out with this project. They all said they would like to do it again and we’re sure the residents would love to have them again. Thanks to out to Jackie, Aileen, Brenda, Irene and Johnnie from the Westerly for helping out and for hosting us.
On Thursday, May 23rd, the students of LCA held a fundraiser for My Best Friend’s Bowl. The student council and their advisor Mr. Tabar came up with the idea of “Dress Like Your Favorite Animal Day” Students paid $2.00 to dress up for the day and raised $211.60 for us. This will help us purchase 1,000 pounds of dog or cat food and feed 100 dogs or 263 cats!
Mr. Tabar also took some photos of the students. We think they had a great time and we KNOW they did a great jobfor us. Thanks so much kids and Mr. Tabar! Click the photos for a larger view.
