On Monday August 5th, the residents of The Westerly Apartments enjoyed the 6 students and their counselor who joined them in a “Mass Bagging” event for My Best Friend’s Bowl. The students and the residents weighed dog and cat food, packaged and labeled 640 pounds total. It was quite an undertaking and they accomplished the job in less than 2 hours and with little or no spillage!
We’d like to thank Sarah, the H20 counselor and the kids, who will be entering 6th grade this fall around Lakewood: Emily, Maddy, Esther, Joey, Kyle and Sean for helping us out with this project. They all said they would like to do it again and we’re sure the residents would love to have them again. Thanks to out to Jackie, Aileen, Brenda, Irene and Johnnie from the Westerly for helping out and for hosting us.

Thanks go out to the many people that attended the Rugby Ohio High SchoolGirls Winter Bowl event. The girls collected food for the benefit of My Best Friend’s Bowl and The Rescue Inn. The girls decided to tie the Winter Bowl to a community service project and we came home with lots of dog and cat food. Take a look at the pictures from Saturday. The girls played in the cold and misty rain all day. Luckily for them the field at Garfield School is astro turf saving them from a mud bath. And thanks to Lee from The Rescue Inn for organizing this drive! Be sure to visit The Rescue Inn’s web page too. http://www.therescueinn.com/Read More
